Merely crawling and searching for somewhere to hide
afraid and alone- until it is that I finally decide
Darkness doesn't have to be all that I see
I can be anything that I want to be
I made the bed and now I must lye here
Until I can let go of my shame and all of my fear
Like a butterfly- tearing out of her cocoon
Underneath the borrowed lights of the moon
I too breakaway - shedding my old skin
As I patiently wait for my new life to begin
I'm open, freely flying to new heights
Colorful, spontaneous, beautiful and bright
No longer insignificant in this world
I have purpose, I have meaning
With my new wings, I WILL SOAR
